Regina slowly dragged herself to her new room in the insert. She was still getting used to her abilities as a keeper. She realized that she could take control of another person's heart, but of course it didn't come without risk to herself. She had experimented on one of the other new humans. Once she started to see the affects of her ability on one of the guys, without their knowing, she felt like she was about to have a stroke. In fact her heart was still beating fast as she put two finger to the side of her neck right above her birthmark. She went over to her sink in the bathroom and splashed some water in her face. She gripped the side of the sink as she closed her eyes trying to slow her heart rate. She sighed to herself as she realized that she couldn't do this ability all the time. She would have to rely more on her weapons than her ability.
Regina slowly walked over to her bed. She unstrapped her belt and dropped it on her bed barely looking at where it landed. She whipped her bangs out of her face as she felt sweat on her hand. Maybe tomorrow she would skip going to the training grounds and maybe go visit her father. She hadn't seen her father in a while and she was beginning to feel guilty about it. But if she was going it would defiantly be tomorrow, she didn't want her father freaking out to see her like this. She walked back to her bathroom as she turned on the water to icy cold. As the water filled up in her tub she watched the rushing water. If she every did have a chance to fight the Kuroris she could only use her powers once maybe twice, anymore than that she might end up giving herself a heart attack.
Regina slowly reached down and pulled off her shoes and rolled up the bottom of her pants all the way up to her knees. She then eased her feet into the cold water. She unintentionally sucked in a shallow breath as a shiver went up her feet to her legs. Regina hung her head as she imagined herself somewhere far away at a beach somewhere.

Regina Black. Nineteen. Female. Keeper. Has the ability of increasing an enemy's heartbe.. Quin shut the yellow folder and rubbed the back of her neck. Why did she of all people have to be the god damn welcoming committee?! Oh, that's right. She already knew the reason. It was all because she could see souls of living things and as precautions, she had to make sure the new recruits were good ones. Sometimes, she hated the fact that Melophane could order her around.. Or rather the fact, he could order her to do things she really hated. Like interacting with the fledglings.
Harlequin slowly trudged her way towards the Insert to meet the first fledgling. She shuddered, not at the thought of meeting someone but rather a scent. A particular scent she dreaded. A mixture of fear and hatred shot through her veins like adrenaline. There was a boom of thunder.
Storm.
Harlequin burst out into a run and covered her ears. Tears began to build up in her eyes but she tried to blink them away. Oh how she hated thunder and water. Storms like this one were just awful for Quin. She screeched to a halt when she got to Regina's door. She rapped her knuckles on the door urgently. Her body shivered as thunder boomed again.

Regina tilted her head back as she closed her eyes. She could almost feel the waves beneath her fingertips, smell the ocean water, sand between her toes. She opened her eyes as she heard the storm outside. She growled to herself, so much for taking advantage of the good day. She pulled her feet out of the water and wrapped a towel around her feet to dry them. Regina then shut off the water and drained what had already filled up.
Her heart rate had slowly down to normal and she wasn't sweating anymore. All that was let was the uncomfortable cold moisture that was left on her forehead. She smoothed her hair back and her pixie hair stayed somewhat in a calm manner. She stood up and walked from the bathroom back into her small bedroom. She took off her outer shirt so she was only in tank top and her pants. She turned her head to the door when she heard a knock on her door. Who could that be? Unless someone caught her messing with one of the other humans using her ability.
She sighed as she walked to the door and opened it without looking outside to see who it was that she was letting in her room. Before she opened it she realized that the storm had gotten worse and that now she couldn't go see her father today. She looked at Harlequin in her doorway, she quickly stepped aside to let her in. "Yes?" she asked.

Thanks for letting me in? Sorry to intrude? Words like these would never be spoken by someone like Quin. She hurried inside the moment Regina had even slightly moved to the side. Good thing she moved anyway because she would've been run over. Harlequin looked over her shoulder for a quick second before her fearful expression became exchanged with one of disgust.
The Regina girl had barely even made a six on Quin's 1-10 scale of good looks. She went into the bathroom and came out with a towel, drying her pigtails vigorously. She already knew her way around the house. All the fledglings' houses had remotely the same layout.
"Regina Black? Keeper, right? Lovely.." Quin said with an annoyed voice and continued, "Call me Harlequin. To be blunt, I'm the freaking welcoming committee. Welcome to your new life."
The Kaito girl flipped her damp pigtails behind her back only to have them stick to her bare skin like her bangs that were plastered against her forehead. Quin tilted her chin up in a snotty type of way but her bratty aura snapped as another crash of thunder boomed right overhead. She screamed and covered her ears before falling into a fetal position.
Real tough now, huh?
The booms of the thunder resonated throughout her cranium, giving her a raging headache. She had almost forgotten Regina was there. Harlequin turned her back towards Regina, not wanting to show this side of herself.
"Freaking thunder.." she grumbled miserably to herself.

Regina barely got out of the way in time before Quin busted through her door. She raised an eyebrow as she watched Quin go to her bathroom and get a towel. Well make yourself at home, no i don't mind honestly. Regina thought about saying those exact words to Quin with a sarcastic tone, but she held her tongue. Regina didn't know what this girl could do to her and she didn't want to get on her bad side if her powers were stronger than her own. She sighed as she crossed her arms over her chest and stared at Quin from the door way.
Regina didn't know how she liked this Harlequin girl, but you know what they say, first impressions are everything and so far...she stopped and cleared her throat. "Yes I am Regina, a keeper." She kept her eyes on Quin as she watched her carefully. "Thank you...." She said calmly. She was trying to keep her head on her shoulders and her mind in the here and now. That was when a clash of thunder was heard and she heard Quin scream and fall into the fetal position. She smirked a little at Quin. So it seemed that she wasn't that scary after all.
"It happens to thunder when there is a storm outside." Regina said as she walked past Quin and into her small what was supposed to be a kitchen. She pulled out two glasses and filled them with water. She slowly came back to Quin and held out one of the glasses to her. She remained silent as she looked at Harlequin. She didn't know how often she would be seeing this girl but she was trying to get along with her as best to her ability.

Quin could detect the amusement found in her sides of no thunder and having thunder. Regina would've gotten what she deserved if thunder wasn't on her side. At least, that's what Quin thought. It surprised her that the girl was still humble enough to give her a glass of water. Even if it was a small benevolent act it seemed to break a bit of Harlequin's bitch shell away.
She took the glass and sipped it. Nodding a thank you in return since it was too embarrassing for her to actually say it. Quin adjusted her bangs before taking a gulp of the water. Oh the irony... Terrified of water but yet drinking it.. Quin gazed at the glass dissatisfied. She looked up at Regina and held out the glass almost sheepishly. Almost.
"Can I have milk instead?" she asked with stars in her eyes. She added on an inaudible 'please'.

Regina took a sip of her own glass and watched Quin. She seemed to becoming more relaxed, at least that is what Regina was hoping. In turn Regina was becoming more relaxed herself, she leaned against the wall as she took another sip. She raised an eyebrow at Quin as she raised her glass to her. She came over and smirked as she heard that Harlequin wanted milk instead.
Without a word Regina left the room and headed to the kitchen. She got Quin a fresh glass of milk. She came back out with her glass and handed it to her still quiet. She wondered what exactly Quin was, was she a human or a Katio. She knew there was only one Kurori in the city, in fact every knew him. She cleared her head and looked at Quin. "So welcoming committee, what do I need to know in my new home?" She asked as she sat down on her couch facing Quin. She made sure there was enough room for Quin to sit down if she wanted since her only furniture in the room was her couch. Regina was confident now that Quin wasn't here because someone found out that she had used her powers on one of her fellow humans. She was in the clear.

The girl held back a squeal of delight when the milk appeared in her hands. She felt a surge of happiness but tried to keep her supposedly calm composure. It was times like these she was thankful for not being a Halfling. Her tail would be lashing out everywhere! Harlequin gulped her milk done and let out a gleeful sigh then wiped her lips of the lingering moisture.
"Ah nothing unexpected. Keep your home clean as to the best of your own abilities, get along with others as best you can, train on a daily basis, if you need help ask with anything it's preferable to ask one of your neighbors but if they can't help.." she sighed, "I suppose you could ask me for assistance as well. Don't bother Melophane and it's best not to speak bad about him. Consequences are quite..lethal for such a thing."
Quin set the glass down and moved next to Regina on the couch. She folded her legs and smirked, not unfriendly but in a teasing type of way.
"Oh, I forgot one more thing. Don't use your abilities on one another unless it's for training and the other person has agreed it's fine for you to do so. But you wouldn't do such a thing. Riight?" Harlequin giggled and placed an index finger on her grinning lips. "Don't worry. I won't tell anyone but don't cause trouble. Without me or without me knowing at least~"
The Kaito clasped her hands above her head and stretched, thinning out her midsection as she did so. A yawn followed shortly after. Quin's eyebrows raised as she seemed for have forget two things. The girl placed Regina's personal information folder on her lap. It was supposed to be classified and never to leave Quin's possession but she did it with all the fledglings. She personally would hate it if there was a file on her so to be somewhat fair, she let the owner's of the information do as they please with it. As Harlequin waited for the fledgling to react, she let everything in her sight blur. Her left eye emitted a glow and sent a warm sensation throughout her body. Quin looked past everything to see Regina's soul. In Quin's soul-seeing vision, everything that wasn't living and didn't have souls would always seem to fade into darkness while the souls were the most vibrant thing she'd ever gaze upon. Souls appeared as glowing orbs and each one differently colored even if by a smudge. Regina's soul was nothing to worry about. Not pure as pure, but it wasn't one that Quin would suspect to betray Melophane. She let out a sigh and returned to her normal vision only to be in time for another clash of thunder. A shiver shot down her spine.[/blockquote]

Regina smiled as she saw that Quin was enjoying her milk, she was honestly surprised that someone could enjoy milk that much. She settled into the couch and took a sip of her water as she listened to what Quin had to say. She nodded at keeping her house clean, that was extremely easy. Regina always had her house clean, it was part of her nature. Training was a giving, in fact she would have to do some more training to get her power under control so that every time she used it she wouldn't be about to hit the floor. Regina smirked a little bit when Quin suggested that she could talk to her in case she needed help, she of course didn't see herself in need of any assistance. She wondered if she would ever get to see Melophane herself, but she knew not to disturb him.
Just when Regina thought that she wasn't in trouble Quin mentioned not to do what she had already did. She got stiff and subconsciously leaned away from Quin. She sighed and got ready for her scolding but she heard Harlequin giggle and put a finger to her lips. She relaxed a little bit as she saw that Quin wasn't going to get her in trouble. She nodded, "I won't cause trouble." She said calmly as she looked at Quin.
Regina was surprised though when Quin put a folder on her lap. She had no idea what this was until she opened it and examined what was inside. She was trying to keep her face still and expressionless, she wasn't exactly thrilled that there was a file on her but she appreciated that Harlequin showed her that there was. Regina slowly closed the file and put it on the floor by her feet. She would have to go through the file thoroughly later when Quin was gone and make sure that there was not a deep dark secret in there that she wanted to keep hidden.
Regina looked back at Quin to see that she was looking at her weird, she was hoping she didn't have some stain or something embarrassing on her clothes. She restrained herself from looking down at her clothes to make sure. A clash of thunder interrupted her thoughts and she focused her attention back on Quin. She sighed as she got up, she was a little uneasy by this information that Quin had given her and not to mention that she knew about what happened earlier. She got up and stood with her arms crossed, "So anything else I should know about?" She asked looking at Quin not knowing if she wanted to know the answer to that question. She sighed and looked outside of her small window, it was still raining heavily. She turned back to Quin. "If you want you can stay here until the storm passes." She offered.
